Undergraduate Scholarships
Sam Fox School Four-Year Scholarships
Each undergraduate division at Washington University provides a number of four-year scholarships that range up to the full cost of tuition. The Sam Fox School offers the James W. Fitzgibbon Scholarships in Architecture and the Conway/Proetz Scholarships in Art to students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and promise in their respective fields.
No separate application is required for these scholarships, although you must submit a digital portfolio of your work to be considered.
James W. Fitzgibbon Scholarship (Architecture)
- One full-tuition scholarship and up to five $10,000 scholarships awarded annually
- Renewable for four years of undergraduate study, as long as the student is making satisfactory progress toward a degree
- To apply, simply select Architecture as your major on your application for admission and submit a digital portfolio of recent work
Conway/Proetz Scholarships (Art)
- One full-tuition scholarship and up to five $10,000 scholarships awarded annually
- Renewable for four years of undergraduate study, as long as the student is making satisfactory progress toward a degree
- To apply, simply select a major in the College of Art on your application for admission and submit a digital portfolio of recent work
WashU Signature Program Scholarships
Students may apply to the University’s signature merit-based scholars programs. Housed within the Office of Scholars Programs (OSP), the scholarship programs bring together students from each of the academic divisions to create unique academic and cultural communities in which to share, learn, challenge, make friends, and exchange views and ideas about what is possible in a global environment.
Students may apply to any or all of the following programs through individual applications available on the WashU Pathway after submitting an application for admission.
WashU Transfer Scholarships
Each year, the WashU Women’s Society sponsors a small number of two-year, full-tuition scholarships for students transferring from the St. Louis Community College system. Elizabeth Gray Danforth Scholars will also receive an Ida H. Early Start-up Grant, which provides a one-time grant up to $2,000 for indirect educational expenses such as housing supplies, books, etc., to assist with their transition as a first-year student at Washington University.
