MFA Lecture Series: Addoley Dzegede
Artist Addoley Dzegede will deliver an online lecture titled The Weight of History as part of the MFA Lecture Series. The lecture is free and will be delivered online via Zoom.
Dzegede (b. 1983) earned a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art, and an MFA in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis. She is currently a fellow at the Tulsa Artist Fellowship. She has most recently been an artist-in-residence at The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach (2020), Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2019), Osei Duro in Accra, Ghana (2019), and Thread: a project of the Albers Foundation in Senegal (2018).
Solo exhibitions include millefiori at KSMoCA in Portland (2020) and Ballast at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (2018). Awards include a 2018 Great Rivers Biennial award and a 2018 Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant.
