Fox Friday: Drawing Meditation
Meditation and drawing are great platforms for calming the body and exploring the mind. This workshop will introduce basic meditation techniques: calm abiding, insight meditation, mantra, and visualization. Each meditation is accompanied by intuitive drawing exercises to explore and complement what is discovered during the process of practice, with the goals of relaxation, ideation, and exploration. Students will take away a series of drawings and a number of pages in a small sketchbook (provided) which document and reflect the meditation and creative practices discussed.
Instructor: Jordan Geiger is an artist, poet, and musician from Boonville, Missouri. He earned his BFA in Fiber Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA in Visual Arts from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts in St. Louis. He is a practicing Buddhist and hospice volunteer.
