Fox Friday: Indian Block Printing and Tie and Dye
Traditional Indian block printing is especially well known in northwestern India, particularly the Rajasthan region. Using hand-carved wooden blocks, artisans create beautiful patterns on fabric. Students will explore this traditional technique while learning about its rich cultural history and the handmade process behind each unique print.
Instructor: Shweta Tambi is a textile designer/artist from Rajastan, India, currently living in University City, MO. She has previously taught at Craft Alliance.
