Opening: Return to Sender

Return to Sender, curated by MFA candidate Hùng Lê, the 2026-27 Lewis Collaborative Curator-in-Residence, explores what happens to communication when the intended person, place, or thing can’t receive the message. How does this disruption within our notions of communication alter our relationship to the message and its legibility? The works within the exhibition question these notions through materials and visual manipulations spanning painting, drawing, sculpture, fiber, printmaking, and photography from 18 artists.
