Kira Hegeman



Kira Hegeman holds a PhD in art education from the University of Georgia with a focus on social practice and community engagement and printmaking and book arts specialization, an MAEd in art education with K-12 art teacher licensure from the University of Georgia, and a bachelor’s degree in comparative religion and Russian language from the University of Vermont.

Most recently, Hegeman served as associate educator, teacher and student learning at the Saint Louis Art Museum, where she oversaw programming and initiatives for pre-K-12, university students, and teachers, including designing resources, facilitating programs, building community collaborations, and managing full and part-time educators at the museum. She has taught visual art, environmental education, and art education theory and practice to youth, adult, and university audiences both in the United States and overseas in Thailand, South Africa, and England.
