Ciara Rose

Ciara Rose Shaffer is a digital and alternative process photographer whose work explores themes of mental health, memory, trauma, healing, and the societal pressures placed on women. Through the use of the human form and self-portraiture, Ciara conveys the physical and emotional weight of living with mental illness. Her style leans into the uncanny, creating images that are simultaneously familiar and unsettling. Much of the work is rooted in personal experience, responding to both past and present events. The art challenges viewers to confront the discomforts and realities of mental illness while remaining open to relatability, reflection, and even resistance.
