Mia Birkenbeul

Mia Birkenbeul is a designer with a background in physical and digital product design. She is passionate about human-centered design and creating design solutions to solve complex problems. Inclusion heavily influences her work and her design process, focusing on how products can make accessing resources easier for all. She is interested in combining the physical world with the digital world and creating products and processes that allow them to coexist.

Throughout completing her BS in Comprehensive Design from Indiana University Bloomington, Mia emphasized the idea that sketching is the most important part of the design process. She believes that it is an essential tool for communicating an idea to peers, colleagues, and clients. She is eager to further her knowledge within design by combining the tools she brings to Sam Fox School, with the tools she will gain through collaboration with her peers and professors.
