WashU Research Team Awarded Transcend Initiative Grant

A WashU team was awarded a partial Transcend Initiative Grant for their research in textiles and environmental factors. “EnviroTex: Advancing Interdisciplinary Environmental Solutions in Textiles Design to Adoption,” is led by WashU faculty Marcos Foston and Fuzhong Zhang, with collaboration from Arpita Bose, Dino Christenson, and the Sam Fox School’s Mary Ruppert-Stroescu.
Part of WashU’s strategic plan, “Here and Next,” Transcend Initiave Grants) allow interdisciplinary teams to expand, broaden, and sustain their research. The grants last up to three years and provide research teams with as much as $450,000 each — a financial boost that can help turn big ideas into big solutions.
