Professor Emerita Joan Hall has been elected co-chair of Dieu Donné’s board of directors. The nonprofit focuses on serving artists through the collaborative creation of art using the process of hand papermaking.
A nationally recognized artist, educator, and advocate, Hall brings decades of experience bridging visual art, environmental awareness, and institutional leadership. She is known for her large-scale, mixed-media installations that address marine ecology and climate resilience through handmade paper, glass, and metal. She previously served as the Kenneth E. Hudson Professor of Art at WashU, the first female endowed professor in the Sam Fox School. She was also director of Island Press from 1999-2010.
