WashU faculty, alumni win AIA St. Louis awards

Several faculty and alumni of the architecture and landscape architecture programs in the Sam Fox School at WashU were among the winners of AIA St. Louis’s annual design awards, which were announced Oct. 16.
Awardees included:
Honor Award – Drawing Category: AVV A, led by Associate Professors Chandler Ahrens, Constance Vale, and Assistant Professor Kelley Van Dyck Murphy, MArch ’07, for “Walls off Washington”
Honor Award – Drawing Category: Lecturer Cody Heller, MArch ’24, for “Of earth, water and sky”
Honor Award – Small Project Category: Arbolope Studio, led by Founding Principal and Visiting Assistant Professor L. Irene Compadre, AB ’08/MLA ’12, as landscape architect for “Garden Room”
Honor Award – Architecture Category: Patterhn Ives LLC, led by founding partners Eric Hoffman, MArch ’05, and Tony Patterson, MArch ’06, along with Anna Ives, for “Market Center of the Ozarks.”
Distinguished Award – Art in Architecture, Small Project Category: AVV A for “Walls off Washington Bodega”
Distinguished Award – Social Progress – Architecture Category: Trivers (architecture), led by Joe Brinkman, AB ’92, and Joel Fuoss, MArch ’02, and Arbolope Studio (landscape architecture) for “DOORWAYS Housing & Administration”
