Associate Professor Penina Acayo Laker is co-investigator on a project examining Anti-Inflammatory Reliever therapy. The project is led by principal investigator Kaharu Sumino, MD, MPH, in WashU Medicine, along with co-investigator Emmanuel Tetteh in the School of Public Health. The therapy has seen limited adoption in low- and middle-income countries, where more than 90% of asthma mortality occurs. The team was awarded an Ignite Interdisciplinary Grant from WashU to identify barriers, design solutions, and co-create a road map for adoption of the therapy in Nigeria.
