The American Institute of Architects named the Bozeman Cohousing project — designed by Studio Co+Hab and architect of record Erik Bonnett, AB ’04 — the 2026 awardee in the Community-Engaged Design category of its Housing Awards. The project is the first net-zero energy cohousing community in the U.S. and Montana’s first cohousing development. Designed through a participatory process with future residents, the 43-home community integrates compact, high-performance dwellings with vibrant shared spaces that foster connection, collaboration, and environmental stewardship.
An AIA award is the ultimate acknowledgment of impactful, exemplary work that sets new standards and inspires others.
