Hoeferlin, Denizen presented at Living Earth Collaborative Symposium

Several WashU faculty members presented at the recent Living Earth Collaborative symposium, Making Saint Louis the Nature City of the 21st Century. Professor Derek Hoeferlin, along with Professor Amy Eyler in the Brown School, shared their research in the university’s Nature and Health Alliance, part of a national program to promote transdisciplinary research and practice on the connection between nature and health. The symposium also featured report outs from the working groups first launched in 2024, including a group dedicated to addressing water-related challenges in urban areas, led by Assistant Professor Seth Denizen.

Hosted by the Missouri Botanical Garden, the symposium also included a walk and talk tour of the Danforth Campus by environmental journalist and author of “Shade: The Promise of a Forgotten Natural Resource,” Sam Bloch.
