Komal Shah named to Time 100 Art

Komal Shah, Sam Fox School National Council member and art collector, has been named to the Time 100 Art 2026, featuring the 100 most influential people shaping the future of art. Known for championing contemporary female artists, Shah is the founder of the Shah Garg Collection, which includes more than 400 works by women. An exhibition from the collection, “Making Their Mark,” has been shown across the country and was on view at the Kemper Art Museum last year.
In this video, Shah, who established her art collection with her husband, alumnus Gaurav Garg (BS ’88, MS ’90), discusses the exhibition “Making Their Mark,” what draws her to particular artists and the importance of representation.
