Nine architecture students attended the annual conference of the National Organization of Minority Architects, with support from the student chapter of the organization. Alumni Bedgid Laguerre and Muskaan Alimchandani, both MArch ’26, gave the presentation “Designing Culturally Responsive Futures: AI as a Design Tool for Vernacular Cultural Memory and Community,”. They shared insights on experimenting with AI platforms as part of a design competition entry, something they began exploring in Senior Lecturer Karel Klein’s studio and Professor Andrew Witt’s Digital Reuse seminar. The topic is of growing popularity as architects and firms incorporate AI into their workflows.
