Fox Fridays: Make a Rug! Tufting Tutorial

Students will create a rug design of their choice and learn the process of creating a rug from stapling the burlap, tufting the burlap, shearing the rug, gluing the rug, and cutting it out of the burlap.

Takeaways: Students will create a 5 x 5 inch square rug of their own design.

Cross-disciplinary Connections: You can implement rugs in almost all disciplines in Sam Fox. This includes creating sculptures with rugs as a 3-D surface or recreating designs in a rug format.
