Fox Fridays: CNC Router + Printmaking
In this workshop, students will learn the basics of the Shaper Origin, a hand-held CNC-router traditionally used for but not limited to furniture and architectural fabrication. Students will also gain an introduction to the Printmaking department and the facilities it has to offer. Students will create a unique relief matrix using the Shaper Origin that will then be printed on one of the printmaking presses in the Dubinsky Printmaking Studio.
Takeaways: Students will produce a CNC-routed relief block as well as a print made from their block.
Cross-disciplinary Connections: Students will gain exposure to tools and processes that can be used across architecture, sculpture, and printmaking disciplines.
