Design Openings is a collaboration between the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis and the Pulitzer Arts Foundation. The initiative, open to Sam Fox School faculty, supports art and design projects and installations in the Grand Center Arts District.

Join us for the Grand Opening of Everything Under the Sun, an evening celebrating creativity, collaboration, and community. The event features a talk by designer Jonathan Stitelman, MIDI: A Live Beats experience, curated by Mvstermind in collaboration with local producers, including a 60-minute live set, food from Blues Fire Pizza, and hands-on art making with the Contemporary Art Museum Resident Teaching Artist.

Everything Under the Sun is supported by the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, Pulitzer Arts Foundation, and Kranzberg Arts Foundation.

Design Openings is the result of the Sam Fox School and the Pulitzer’s shared commitment to contribute to the creative futures of St. Louis through art, design, and culture. The organizations have collaborated on art and design projects for over a decade, including work in the Grand Center Arts District.

Past projects of the Pulitzer Endowment have included national design competitions with Freecell Architecture (2013) and Amanda Williams and Andres Hernandes (2017), and invitational residencies with Jordan Weber (2021) and Kotchakorn Voraakhom (2023).

Design Openings is supported by the endowment from Emily Rauh Pulitzer, which supports collaborative projects between Washington University in St. Louis and the Pulitzer Art Foundation that enhance the creative life of St. Louis.
