Greely Myatt
Memphis-based sculptor Greely Myatt works from a lexicon of comic book forms and word pieces from found and salvaged signage. In 2009, a survey of his art, titled Twenty Years 1989-2009, was jointly exhibited at 10 arts institutions in Memphis. Recent group exhibitions include Heartland, which was first exhibited at the Van Abbemuseum in The Netherlands, and then at the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago; Americanana at the Hunter College Art Galleries; and Desires, Nightmares and Dreams II at The Running Horse Contemporary Art Space in Beirut, Lebanon. Myatt was a guest artist at Island Press in February 2011. He earned his BFA from Delta State University and his MFA from the University of Mississippi, Oxford.
