Jia Song, MLA ’25, and Reba Shoup, MArch/MLA ’28, each received an Excellence Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects at the Central States Conference. WashU was the only school to achieve these awards, the highest level offered by ASLA. Shoup’s project, “Weaving the Missouri,” was awarded in the Design (Unbuilt) category, and Song’s project “Pollinator Garden,” was awarded in the Planning and Analysis category. Both works were created in Master of Landscape Architecture studio courses led by Assistant Professor Seth Denizen.
Additionally, landscape architecture firm Arbolope — founded by Irene Compadre, AB ’08/MLA ’12 — won a professional Excellence Award for Love Bank Park.
