Photoshop Solar System
Participants in this workshop will create their own fully realized solar system. There will be investigation of several advanced visual tools in Adobe Photoshop. Filtering techniques will be covered as well as blur settings. Gradients, hue/saturation and adjustment layers will be explored in the context of 3D illustration. Students only need to bring their laptops, with Photoshop installed, to participate.
Instructor
Dmitri Jackson is a graphic novelist, freelance illustrator, and teacher, as well as an instructional technologist in the Sam Fox School. His work has been featured in the Riverfront Times, Curiosus Magazine, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Three-dimensional content is used prominently in illustration, motion graphics, and video game design. Learning the steps in constructing a convincing solar system will benefit students’ practice, broaden possibilities in their work and deepen their knowledge of Photoshop.
