Acayo Laker Publishes The Black Experience in Design
The Black Experience in Design, a new book co-authored and edited by assistant professor Penina Acayo Laker, has been released from Skyhorse books. The anthology spotlights teaching practices, research, stories, and conversations from a Black/African diasporic lens and exemplifies the inherently collaborative and multidisciplinary nature of design.
Wallace Writes about Reclining Pan for the Wall Street Journal
Reclining Pan is “the most important Renaissance sculpture in America,” argues William E. Wallace, the Barbara Murphy Bryant Distinguished Professor of Art History (Arts & Sciences). Inspired by his longtime colleague who passed away last fall, Mark S. Weil (E. Desmond Lee Professor Emeritus for Collaboration in the Arts and former chair of Art History & Archaeology), Wallace wrote this article about the sculpture for the Wall Street Journal.
Saint Louis Visionary Awards Honor Jey & Pulitzer
The Saint Louis Visionary Awards has announced their 2022 recipients. Among this year’s honorees are alum Mee Jey (MFA-VA19), who will receive the Emerging Artist award, and Emily Rauh Pulitzer, who will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The ceremony will take place April 25.

Jain Takes Part in Architecture Speaks! Series
