About the artist
Yizak Elyashiv earned his BFA in 1990 at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel. He then came to the US, where he completed an MFA at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1992. He went on to teach at the Rhode Island School of Design and Rhode Island College before taking his current position teaching drawing and printmaking at Clark University in Massachusetts in 1999.
Elyashiv’s work, which reveals his interest in art and science, often explores the possibilities of patterns within set parameters. His work is included in the permanent collections of several museums, including the British Museum, the Fogg Art Museum of Harvard University, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Israel Museum.
