Orly Genger

Sprint, Squat, and Struggle—three screenprints by artist Orly Genger published at Island Press—signal energetic exertions of bodies in motion. Resulting from Genger’s residency at the printmaking workshop, this series of works continues her exploration of themes and imagery which occupy her works on paper.

Orly Genger is best known for her immense rope sculpture installations. The sheer volume and weight of the knitted rope she works with calls for nearly heroic interaction with the artist’s body. Genger’s suite of three modestly scaled silkscreen prints use super hero body parts to create new amalgamated figures.
